Hell To Pay...a sneak peek

Today, I got a sneak peek of my book Hell To Pay, which will be published by Sassy Books an imprint of JH Publishing next year.

I am so excited. What do you think?

When Nancy Kerr walks in on her parents’ killers, she’s raped and left for dead. Fourteen months later, she wakes up in a psychiatric hospital with no knowledge of how she got there. Slowly her memory starts to return. Released from the institution, she has just one thing on her mind –revenge.

Two men brought hell to her family home. Now they’re in for some hell of their own.

It's the first revenge thriller featuring Nancy Kerr and Tommy McIntyre.

Caring for Your Dog: The Essential Guide now in Kindle

Hoorah, they've finally kindlelised (is that even a word) my dog book. If it's not a word, then they've put it on Kindle.

Who would have thought say ten years ago that we would be reading books electronically? Not me.

What are my qualifications for writing this book/ebook?

Well, I've lived with dogs all my life. I love dogs and also have experience of having an epi dog and caring for rescue dogs.

When I think of all my happy times, I think of my dogs.

Bullying A Parent's Guide Now out on Kindle

When I wrote Bullying A Parent's Guide, I wanted the book to be available to as many people as possible because I genuinely believed I wrote a book that would help bullied children and their parents.

So, I'm delighted to announce that the book is now available on Kindle in the UK, priced £3.99.

Let's end the misery of bullying.

Hell to Pay Publication

If you see this logo, it's a sassy book.

I'm delighted to have signed a contract with Sassy Books today for my revenge thriller Hell to Pay.

Here's a taster of what to expect -

Nancy Kerr refuses to be a victim. She walks in on her parents’ killers and is violently raped and left for dead. Fourteen months later, she wakes up in a psychiatric hospital with no knowledge of how she got there. Slowly her memory starts to return.
Released from the institution, she has just one thing on her mind – revenge.
Two men brought hell to her family home. Now they’re in for some hell of their own.

If I had to describe this brand of fiction, I'd call ir Die Hard for Girls. The novel's aimed at those of us who like our heroines sassy and kick ass.

Hell to Pay will be published in 2013.

Living Cruelty Free is now out on Kindle

Many people have asked me when Living Cruelty Free would be available on Kindle. So, I'm delighted to announce the book is on sale at Amazon.co.uk priced £6.41. At the moment, the book is available in the UK only, but I expect that to change soon:)

Living Cruelty Free has now been kindlefied

Because it's a great reference guide to things like hidden nasties in foods that are not suitable for vegetarians or vegans, how to spot if products are tested on animals and how to tell if something is Fairtrade (amongst other things) it's the perfect guide to carrying around on your Kindle when you go shopping.

Living Cruelty Free - Out March 29th, 2012

I am so excited that Living Cruelty Free will finally go on sale on March 29th, 2012. The culmination of months of painstaking work, I really do hope it can make a difference.

Too often we despair about the cruelty that goes on the world. That's why I decided to write a book that would arm people with the facts they needed to make the world a better place.

Here's a link to the interview I did on why I wrote the book - Interview

I genuinely wish this book had been around when I became vegetarian 25 years ago because it's a one stop shop for compassionate living. Most importantly, it stresses that we all need to be more compassionate not just to animals but our fellow human beings.

You can buy the book on Amazon.com

Amazon.co.uk

Amazon.ca

Price: UK £9.99 | USA $14.95 | CAN $16.95

I'd like to thank the BUAV for letting me use their world famous leaping bunny logo in the book, my friends on Facebook and Twitter for helping me to decide what went in the book and my long suffering partner in life and compassionate living, John.

You can follow me on Twitter as veggiegirl2011 and I also have a Facebook page dedicated to the book.

7 deadly sins on social networking sites

There are so many articles on how to use social networking to your advantage when you're a writer/author. But not so many when it comes to what not to do.

Here's my top 7 pet hates -

  1. People who contually ask you to like their page/book/website/link but they never reciprocate.
  2. Authors on goodreads who want you to vote for their book over other books. Fair enough if you have read their book and the other books, but if you haven't and they know you haven't then asking you to vote for their book is A-cheeky, B-an insult to other authors.
  3. Authors who only promote their own books on Twitter and Facebook and who do it contunously shoving it down your throats. They make no attempt to engage in conversation with you. It's just all me, me, me. My advice? Stop being a self-obsessed social networking monster.
  4. Spammers who put links to work at home/get a bigger manhood/prescription meds without a prescription in public pages on Facebook.
  5. People who don't apologise when their Twitter account gets hijacked and you end up getting 'someone's saying bad things about you' type messages from the spammers. Hey, one tweet is all it takes to say what's happened so there's no risk of anyone opening any links.
  6. Newbie authors who act like the only reason you are following them is because you are a fan. Most writers follow other writers for the friendship. Unless they are very famous that is. Think Stephen King type famous.
  7. People who never say thank you when you review their work or like they're page or do something else they asked. A thank you goes a long way.
